On July 3, 2007, SSgt Daniel Pena was injured when the vehicle he was riding in was attacked by an Improvised Explosive Device. Pena was traveling with his squad to Dora Baghdad Police Station in the Rasheed District. SSgt Pena was assigned to the 732nd ESFS and providing police training and operations expertise. SSgt Pena suffered injuries to his right leg and arm that required 15 separate operations. SSgt Pena was on temporary duty from the 316th Security Forces Squadron, Andrews AFB, MD.
